It is impractical to keep our Koi at maximum ‘Oxygen Saturation’ level.    There is also the danger to consider of ‘Gas Bubble’ disease.   However, in 248 ponds which we have visited to date, we have never encountered a case of GB disease.    Most Koi Keepers seem to run their ponds with INSUFFICIENT OXYGEN – Gerry’s pet mantra is ‘More Oxygen’!
•  Wedemeyer & Wood continued the work carried out by Warren in 1973, and put together ‘Recommended minimum dissolved oxygen levels’ based on acceptable reductions in fish physiological functions.
